In the beginning of June, a small delegation from Japan visited MedTrace to get a demo of the P3 installation in Aarhus. The chief chemist of Osaka University Hospital, Dr. Sadahiro Naka was accompanied by Dr. Katayama from the nuclear medicine department. In addition, Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) had sent one of their principal development engineers, Mr. Watanabe, to gain further technical insights into the construction of the P3 system. In Japan, SHI is our partner to install, service and market the MedTrace solution, and this was the first opportunity for SHI to see the P3 system in real life.
The visit allowed for production of numerous batches of 15O-water by our guests, training in daily system set-up, discussions with the local radiochemists on quality control and operations as well as planning for the first installation at Osaka University Hospital. The delegation was very excited about the design and quality of the system. We also learned more about the lung cancer study using 15O-water on our T2 system in Osaka and the numerous plans there are for expanding the use of 15O-water once the P3 system is installed. Osaka University plans on installing our P3 system in December, when they are also installing a new PET- scanner.
