The distinguished prize was awarded for his presentation of the study “Elevated Right-Ventricular Blood Flow is Associated with Diastolic Dysfunction and Adverse Cardiovascular Events, Including Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction”. The presentation was based upon work by Hans, with Marcelo di Carli, during Hans’ tenure at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School). While the work is not done on 15O-water, but instead Rb-82, it underpins the prognostic value of PET cardiac imaging and the sophistication of the unique features of the new aQuant software used in this study.
